👋 I'm Joseph Khan, the founder of Fitly AI and a business student at the Schulich School of Business with a passion for entrepreneurship, technology, and building products that solve real-world problems.

Growing up I have always been fascinated by the idea of creating something from nothing. The ability to identify a problem, develop a solution, and turn an idea into something people can actually use is what first drew me toward entrepreneurship and building software. For me, building a business never came easy, coming from a background with zero technical ability and coding experience ment I had to learn everything from YouTube and other social media platforms.

My entrepreneurial journey began with rise of of artificial intelligence and seeing first hand how many tedious industries where slowly evolving and developing with the change of AI. Initially, my focus was on working with small firms and clinics through my agency that offered search engine optimization (SEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO) solutions. I was interested in how businesses could use emerging technology to improve there search rankings and how consumers discover information online.

As my agency growth continued so did other AI alternatives which ment inexpensive options for my clients, I knew that my future projection for my agency was going to take a big hit so I continued exploring different opportunities, I began thinking more about the type of product I wanted to build. I wanted to create something more consumer-focused, something people could interact with regularly and find genuinely useful in their everyday lives.

That's when my attention shifted toward fashion.

We've all experienced the frustration of standing in front of a mirror with an outfit that we all thought would be great in our heads but something was just missing so we scour through our closets trying to find what outfit add on piece that would fully complete the look but never ended up finding it either due to a lack of time, care or falsely thinking we already look put togather which gives us the sense of uncertainty stepped foot oustide.

This problem that I personally faced made me wonder why nobody had created a simple solution that could help people find clothing pieces that complement their existing outfits. Finding an individual item you like is relatively easy, but figuring out whether that item complements your existing style is another challenge entirely. You might find a jacket that looks amazing on a model, but how do you know that it would pair well with your current outfit?

Often, the process involves endless scrolling, comparing products, and trying to imagine how everything will look together.

I realized there was a clear opportunity to make this experience simpler, smarter, and more personalized through artificial intelligence.

That idea became Fitly AI.

Fitly AI is a personal styling app designed to help people discover clothing pieces that complement what they're already wearing. Instead of searching through countless products and guessing what might match, users can upload a photo of their outfit and receive AI-powered recommendations based on their clothing, style preferences, and personal needs for what add on they want.

The idea behind Fitly AI is simple: What if finding the right clothing add on piece to fully complete your outfit could be as easy as taking a photo?

Turning that concept into an actual application has been one of the most valuable learning experiences of my entrepreneurial journey. From exploring ideas and designing the user experience to developing features and refining how the app works, I've learned that building a product requires constant experimentation, problem-solving, and improvement.

Not every idea works perfectly the first time, and there is always something new to learn through each phase of the journey. However, that's also what makes entrepreneurship exciting. Every challenge is an opportunity to improve the product and better understand the people you're building it for.

My vision for Fitly AI extends beyond simply recommending clothing. I want to make personal styling more accessible and help people feel confident in how they present themselves. I believe technology should complement individual creativity, not replace it.

Fashion is personal. Everyone has different preferences, lifestyles, and ways of expressing themselves. My goal is to build technology that recognizes those differences and makes discovering your personal style way easier.

Looking ahead, I hope to continue growing Fitly AI into a platform that changes how people discover clothing, put outfits together, and approach personal styling.

What started as a personal problem has become something real, and I'm excited to see where this journey takes us.
